Dr. Alyssa also completed her Leadership Education and Specialty Certification in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and Related Disabilities (LEND) from Vanderbilt University so she could better serve children with a range of neurodevelopmental diagnoses. Additionally, Dr. Alyssa has been trained in the Sensory-Oral-Sequential (SOS) Approach to Feeding to assess and address pediatric feeding delays and disorders effectively. Before becoming an occupational therapist, Dr. Alyssa was also an Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) provider and has extensive experience working with children with behavioral delays, sensory processing differences, and related difficulties. As a neurodiversity-affirming therapist, Dr. Alyssa takes pride in using children’s unique strengths to support their achievement towards developmental milestones. She has been further trained in the Developmental, Individual-Differences, and Relationship-Based (DIR) approach to therapy, which is a model that highlights the power of relationships and emotional connections to fuel development. Dr. Alyssa established her first private practice in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2019 and successfully provided services for children and their families throughout Southern Nevada.
